Who are the Toronto Accolades?

Founded in 1968, Toronto Accolades is an all-female a cappella choral group singing four-part harmony in the barbershop style. We are members of Harmony, Inc., an international organization promoting friendship and personal growth through music and music education. Our repertoire includes a variety of music, both old and new, fast and slow. We put on shows, compete at Harmony, Inc. annual contests, and perform within the community. Please browse through our website to find out more about us.

On several occasions this holiday season, we will be entertaining shoppers at Fairview and Markville Malls, singing our repertoire of seasonal favourites.  With the support of Rama Gaming House--Toronto East, we have been able to rent sound equipment for these events, with the goal of buying our own in the near future.

The Toronto Accolades also have sturdy new risers to sing on, with safety railings which attach securely at the back, thanks to this Kennedy Road Charitable Gaming Association. It was a long search, but we are happy to finally have risers that are safe, good looking -- and don't creak!  This is a very large purchase and would not have been possible without them. If you visit our "Latest News" page, you will see a photo of our new risers, along with our new Yamaha keyboard.  The keyboard and a fabulous gig bag to keep it in, with shoulder straps for easy transport, were also made possible thanks to Rama Gaming House--Toronto East.

We are thrilled to once again be meeting every Thursday evening at Earl Bales Community Centre, 4169 Bathurst St.  (Bathurst and Sheppard) for fun, friendship and song!  Rehearsals are presently taking place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. We are all vaccinated and we are still masked during rehearsals.  But we are once again enjoying the social interaction and hearing those four part harmonies live. We are also thrilled to have added a few new members, in spite of these uncertain times. We invite anyone who is interested to come out and join us for an evening to see what our chorus is all about, and discover the joys of making music together.

We sang for holiday shoppers at Markville Mall several times in December, performing in front of the beautiful two-storey high Christmas tree in the centre of the mall.  What a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.  To see photos, go to our Latest News page.
